Only soft duffel bag luggage is allowed on Safari. Don't forget to also check airline luggage requirements before you embark!
Must haves and suggested nice to haves for your wild adventure!
For game-viewing, we advise that every guest in your party brings their own pair of binoculars. In terms of photography, a telephoto lens of 250-400mm is recommended. Many camera stores will rent specialist equipment including lenses - ask your local camera shop about this option. And it’s always recommended to practice with your new equipment before you depart.
TIPPING
Tipping is customary and most lodges and camps will have a central tip box for all the staff, although your guide should be tipped separately. Allow $5-10 per guest per night, for the lodge staff and $25 per guest per night for your trusted guide.
POWER SUPPLY & PHONE/WIFI CONNECTIVITY
Many camps have a limited power source which is unable to support hairdryers and/or hair straighteners. Wi-Fi is often limited but many areas have mobile network. A local sim is recommended instead of absorbing roaming charges.
LUGGAGE & CLOTHING ADVICE
The weight allowance for internal flights is 15kgs (a soft 80-litre duffle bag without wheels works well). Bring ‘breathable’ clothes and consider wearing layers as temperatures can vary.
LAUNDRY
Please do not bring anything too special or fragile as luggage tends to move around. Please note that properties don’t take any responsibility for damage to clients’ goods.
